PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Four people are in jail in Pender County after investigators say they robbed a man and forced him to have drugs delivered to the home where two of the suspects live.
Investigators say it happened Monday at 100 Whitestocking Rd. in Burgaw. The victim told deputies the suspects lured him to their home. When he got there he says they assaulted him, stole his money and forced him to have crack cocaine delivered to the house.
Yesterday the Pender County Sheriff's Office arrested Brandon Scott Drinkwater and Brandy Nichole Elkins, who live in the house. They also arrested Brandon Trevor Simpson, who lives down the street, and Jacob Leamon Rivenbark of Wallace. They are each charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, conspiring to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault by pointing a gun and assault with a deadly weapon.
Drinkwater, Elkins and Simpson are in jail under $180,000 secure bond. Rivenbark's bond is $190,000 because of unrelated warrants from Duplin County.
The Department of Corrections website shows Rivenbark is listed as an absconder from from probation/parole supervision after being convicted earlier this year for receiving stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretenses. DOC records also show Drinkwater has a record included several convictions for larceny. Simpson's record includes several drug and larceny convictions.
