WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington's Good Shepherd Center recently won a new Toyota Sienna as part of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good campaign.
The center will use the van to transport homeless veterans around the port city and pick up donations.
Executive Director Katrina Knight says winning is a big honor.
"There are happy kinds of things that come Good Shepherd's way pretty frequently, but I have to say this was a communitywide effort," Knight said. "This is not something that would have happened with just five dedicated people it really took a communitywide effort. Folks and friends in other states were even going on Facebook and voting for us."
The Good Shepherd Center is not sure when the new Sienna will arrive. They say it gives them time to decide which of their old vehicles needs to retire.
