Panel: Discharge Marine captain in urination case

READ MORE:

QUANTICO, Va. (AP) - A U.S. Marine Corps panel is recommending that an officer be forcibly discharged for failing to supervise a group of snipers who posed for a video while urinating on dead Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.

The panel of three colonels issued its ruling Thursday against Capt. James V. Clement after a three-day hearing at Marine Corps Base Quantico. The panel found Clement's performance of duty was substandard. Two lieutenant generals will now review the recommendation and determine whether Clement should be given an honorable discharge.

A YouTube video showing the Marines from Camp Lejeune, N.C., urinating on corpses during a July 2011 patrol received international condemnation. Three enlisted Marines previously pleaded guilty at courts martial.

Defense lawyer John M. Dowd maintains Clement is a victim of political correctness at the Pentagon.

You know while what the

You know while what the Marines did some might think was in poor taste, they are at war over there putting their lives on the line for our COUNTRY for our FREEDOM,it seems to be easy for some to judge what they do over there, well I am here to tell ya'll,until we all have walked in a solider shoes and lived the life at war we have no right to condemn anything they do.How is it every time one of our men or women do something that might be in poor taste, there is always a camera but, you never see or hear anything the terrorist do to our men and women, think what you want about what I am fixin to say but,I don't care what they do at war as long as children are not involved, our men and women are going over to another Country knowing these foes are out to kill them.It is evident that this foe had been shooting at them with the intent to kill them,I am glad it was our Marines that was peeing on this foe instead of this foe peeing on our Marines leave them and this man alone. This COUNTRY the GOOD OL USA should be standing behind our Marines well all of our ARMED FORCES for that matter.
