WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a robbery at the First Citizens Bank at 8219 Market Street in Porters Neck.

NHSO spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer says at about 3:13 p.m. a man walked in and demanded money. The suspect is a black male, 40-50 years old, about 5’6″ wearing a black hoodie and a red hat with a NC State “S” on it. He ran off toward the Wendy’s parking lot.

Anyone with any information on the robber please contact the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 798-4162.

    Will someone please explain why photos of thieves are so awful in this day and age? My $300 Nikon camera takes perfect pictures every time, but banks and stores seem to use 29 cent toy cameras – the quality is simply awful.

    I know that this crime couldn’t happen in Porters Neck! Wal-Mart isn’t there yet! So, I guess that Wal-Mart isn’t going to bring the wrong kind of people to your part of town! They are already there!
