WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man who police say led officers on a foot chase when trespassing in a Wilmington housing complex also faces several drug charges.

They say around 11 p.m. Monday night, officers spotted a man on Greenfield Street they say was on the Wilmington Housing Authority’s trespassing list for the nearby Houston Moore housing community.

Police say Brandon Wilson, 26, led officers on a foot chase before arresting him. It wasn’t until then that police say one of their K-9 units let them know there was something inside Wilson’s car.

They say they found 350 bags of heroin and over $2,000 in cash in the car, which police seized. Wilson is charged with second degree trespassing, possession of heroin within 1000 feet of a school, trafficking heroin, maintaining a vehicle for distribution of heroin, and resisting arrest.

Wilson is in the New Hanover County Jail under $1,000,000 bond.
