NC NAACP president goes to court for protests

READ MORE:

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The state president of the NAACP joined a group of people who were arrested during the series of protests at the General Assembly.

WRAL-TV in Raleigh reports (http://bit.ly/1adgrAk) that The Rev. William Barber appeared in court Friday with about a dozen others charged in connection with the protests that began in May.

There have been three previous hearings.

Earlier this month, a Wake County judge dismissed charges against a husband and wife who were among the more than 900 people arrested during the mass protests. One week before the dismissal, the same District Court judge found a retired factory worker guilty of misdemeanor charges.
