Cape Fear Fair & Expo opens Friday night

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Cape Fear Fair & Expo makes its big return tomorrow.

The fair is at its usual spot at the Wilmington International Airport, but organizers say this year's fair is better than the last.

From horses to ducks, deep fried Oreos to ice cream and exciting rides for all ages, fair staff says visitors will not be disappointed.

"To me, every fair is exciting," fair manager Skip Watkins said. "I described it earlier to friends that it's kind of like a family reunion with the volunteers since we've known each other for years, you know? We just... I like seeing kids happy and smile. That's why I do it."

The Cape Fear Fair & Expo opens tomorrow at 5 p.m.

There are still advance tickets available for $15 at area Scotchman stores, but you need to go get them now. That offer ends at midnight.

Once the fair opens tomorrow, tickets are $20, or you can purchase a $5 walk around ticket if rides don't interest you.

This year's fair runs through Sunday, Nov. 10.

I've never been to the local

I've never been to the local fair after it left Carolina Beach Road.
It was so neat to drive by rather I went in with my kids or not.
Wish it was still there..nothing seems to have been done with the property.
