WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police arrested a man they say admitted to cutting the tires of a police car while it was parked in the apartment complex where the officer lived.

They say it happened just after 8:30 last night in the Quad Apartments on N. MacMillan Avenue at the edge of UNCW’s campus.

Police say when officers got to the scene, Eric Deleonle told them he cut the police car’s tires because he was angry, according to WPD spokeswoman Linda Rawley. She says the officer who drives the car that was damaged lives in that complex.

Police say Deleonle is charged with property damage.
