Polish festival celebrates culture

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) -- St. Stanislaus Catholic Church off of Castle Hayne Road hosted the 16th Annual Polish Festival this weekend.

Hundreds of people lined up for the tasty polish food like perogies and kielbasa. Once they cleared their plates, folks hit the dance floor with friends and family.

The festival is for anyone and everyone, but even attracted true Poland natives.

"The food is good. This is what we would have in Poland," said a visitor from Poland. "The orchestra is from here, so they do not actually play what we would listen to in Poland. So it is a mix, but we like the food. They do a really good job of the food."
