WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Red Barn Studio Theatre is open once again! After actress Linda Lavin left Wilmington for New York, the Red Barn Studio closed its doors for renovations.

Now they're reopen and Thalian Association promises some spectacular performances. Right now the award-winning play Other Desert Cities is on stage.

Other Desert Cities won the 2011 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play before transferring to Broadway, where it was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. The emotionally charged play concerns a family coming to terms with long-held secrets.

Thalian Association Artistic Director Tom Briggs stopped by the GMC studio to discuss the current production and said the story balances heavy emotional issues with humor.

Briggs said Thalian Association owes Linda Lavin and her husband a huge thank you for transferring stewardship of Red Barn Studio Theatre.
