CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — One week after Election Day, and the race for Carolina Beach mayor is not over just yet.

Incumbent Bob Lewis has asked for a recount after the New Hanover County Board of Elections’ canvass found challenger Dan Wilcox won by just seven votes.

There were 16 provisional votes in question. Of those the Board of Elections approved just two.

The Board of Elections set the recount for 10 a.m. Friday.
