WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police are searching for two masked men they say used handguns to force their way into an apartment last night.

It happened in the 500 block of Cobblestone Drive in Abbotts Run Apartments around 9:30 p.m.

That's when police say two black men in hoodies, with bandannas covering their faces, broke into a unit there and stole electronics, sneakers and $100.

Police say the two men, one wearing a blue bandanna and the other wearing a black one, got away with an Xbox and a laptop.

They say no one was hurt during the crime, but Wilmington Police are investigating.

My son lives in a n

My son lives in a n apartment community & in the past couple of years it seems that the sum bag druggies & dealers love to use these places as their meeting spots! Always watch your surroundings!

I spoke with a person that lives in Abbotts Run earlier this week. We were discussing the recent crime and they mentioned 2 men in a white crown victoria/ grand marquis that had sat in several different locations of the complex for a few minutes and would move to a different location and sit for a few minutes.

This was very recent, and it makes me wonder.....!

I live in an apartment complex which has had its share of trouble during the last year, and is very close to Abbotts Run. I pay attention to every car in my parking lot that is not a resident: noting the color, make, model and tag number. There are a few heroin dealers in my building which management refuses to do anything about, so diligence is my only defense until the complex wakes up and evicts these slimeballs. Midtown Wilmington is turning into a ghetto cesspool.

***But neither party's comments here justified calling the Police for either situation?
I guess some people don't want to get involved in fear of retaliation...but most certainly hope "Others" will instead...huh?***

home invasions

Hey wway3 how about a map showing the locations of all the robberies of this type, lets say for the past twelve months that way when folks are looking for an apartment they know which ones to stay away from or at least we could see what else is close by.
Thanks

Apartment Complex Management

I don't know if your complex is run by a management company or not but if they are you can call the corporate office and go over the managers head. I had a problem once over at Clear Run Apartments with the tenants downstairs. I called the manager numerous times but they refused to do anything about it. I called the corporate office and within 3 days the problem was resolved, the tenants were evicted. Needless to say I moved shortly afterwards. Hope this helps.
