WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The madness that is Black Friday and now even Brown Thursday is already underway in stores and online.

As we celebrate today as a day to give thanks, some will be giving thanks for great deals. But how do you know where to find the best deals without having to pitch a tent and wait all week?

We asked the senior editor of Consumer Reports Jim Willcox to help us gear up for Black Friday and the rest of the holiday shopping season.

And it’s by NO MEANS “expert”

    Don’t go.
The hype, the advertising, the publicity are all meant to get you to spent more than you should.
Face it – the majority will not get the best deals.

    Stay home……..

Yea verily, we shall abstain from the hustle and the bustle, far from the madding crowd.

Most of the “Black Friday” deals can be had before and after the so called sale. They are also offered online. Why these stores add to their overhead with crazy hours and the needed extra security is puzzling. Is this a conspiracy so the government can secretly make a list of the people that camp out for these deals so they can “recruit” these folks to be future “kamikaze” pilots should the need ever arise?
