Saffo, 3 council members sworn in

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Wilmington City Council meeting had a bit of a different feel Tuesday night as elected city officials took their oath of office.

Mayor Bill Saffo along with councilmen Kevin O’Grady, Charlie Rivenbark and Earl Sheridan were all sworn in to serve the city for four more years.

After being sworn into office Mayor Saffo shared his vision for the city with WWAY.

"Economic development continues to be one of the things that are on one of the citizens minds," Saffo said. "We continue to improve on the infrastructure of our roads. Working with the comprehensive land use plan that will give us a road map of what the community will look like in the next 20 to 30 years. We understand that 50-thousand additional citizens will be moving into our city in the next 30 years."

The only notable change to the council over the next four years is that Margaret Haynes will now be serving as Mayor Pro Tempore. Sheridan had previously held that position.

To all the citizens of Wilmington: you earned it.

Liberals on the local level

Finally, I can breathe a sigh of relief since I recently moved to Hampstead to get beyond the reach of these money grabbing liberal idiots. Convention centers, proposed 100 percent public financed ballparks , annexation ( thank you Republican state legislators ) , crumbling infrastructure and parks are not the road to prosperity. There are almost zero opportunities for young educated individuals , if their desire is not to work in low paying call centers and retail positions.. If I were young again I would run like hell from this community. It is a smaller scale of the bankrupt city of Detroit. With their liberal vision of spending your money , their fate will be that of Detroit. Thank God they could not hang the ballpark around the citizen's neck. Look at the local news in Atlanta , the multimillionaire ball club , the Atlanta Braves , say they are moving from a relatively new ballpark , Turner Field , to another county that will meet their heavy handed demands. Does this sound familiar? Morons hold your purse strings and you deserve what the future may hold because they are not done spending your money foolishly.

YOU

IDIOTS DESERVE every bit of what's coming your way for the next 4 years..
