Man, woman arrested for Brunswick County robbery

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A man and a woman are in jail charged in connection to a robbery that occurred yesterday at a home on Moss Court in Leland.

Deputies arrested Steven Isaha Evans, 21, of Wilmington, and Courtney Briona Jacobs, 20, of Leland early this morning.

According to warrants, Evans and Jacobs threatened the victim with a shotgun as they stole a PlayStation 3, video games and coins. They are each in jail under $100,000 bond charged with second degree kidnapping, felony breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Investigators say Evans is a validated gang member. The Department of Corrections website shows his criminal record includes convictions for robbery, kidnapping and resisting an officer.

they deserve what they got!

The sad part about this is my family has known Courtneys family for years. But her bad decisions and the people she hangs around have her in the situation she's in. The people that were broken into was my brother and uncles house. Not just once but twice. Right at 1000 cash stolen , tvs, and stereo systems. And they tied up and threatened a friends life. All over some materialistic things. Instead of getting a job and doing things the right way. All that can be replaced but what gets me the most is that my uncles and brother work hard for what they have and earned it the right way. Hopefully justice is done and they get awake up call.

this aint right

if you dont know anything about courtney and the kind of life she had then dont say anything about wat she looks like she aint on this earth to impress any of yall so stop judging her no body is perfect every body makes miss take god only knows how many miss takes yall make dont judge her by the way she looks get to know her first what if that was u would u like for poeple to post negative things about u no u wouldnt and this thing about karma have u looked into it this aint karma this is just a lesson learn. this is whats wrong with everyone these days they look at the bad in people never look at the good courtney probably was going through alot and couldnt take it any more so done something wrong and now every body is like o this is wat she get karma hit her no this is not wat she deserves she needs someone that is going to be beside her give her the right advice and a support system not all the negatives

You done said it right

They is saying [second degree kidnapping, felony breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.] They is just miss takes an god only how many a yall been done the exactly same thing. An that vicktum got ta know her cause she had that gun pointing right at her and she aint saying those things you is saying cause she done took the time to got to knoe her.. Sure maybe another good lesson learn is maybe don't do this robbing an stuff but she already got a lesson to learn and she don't need no more. It aint fair no way if karma is wat she should get just cause she done chose to done wat she done chose to did. her choosing is somebodys elses fault and nor her fault cause she don't deserve no karma an her not being a looker is true but that aint her fault neither so yall just shut up with your bad talking! Yall should be ashame cause yall looking at the bad just cause she done some bad stuff an that aint right to be looking at that!

Wow your botched English is absolutely pathetic. She knew what she was doing and will have hopefully plenty of time to "learn a lesson" in jail. This couple is a prime example of these leeches of society that are running rampant in the USA and ruining my faith in humanity.

wasnt talking down

i wasnt saying anything bad about courtney by no means i was sticking up for her beciz im her friend and i was going to see people talk bad about the way she looks on her so i dnt kno wat ur talking about with me talking crap but i wasnt i love courtney like a sis her and the babies i would never talk bad about her now on about the other stuff yea everyone makes bad decisions i did i would never talk bad about her FREE COURTNEY we love u so does giovanni

You know you look at these

You know you look at these two and can see they are rif raf. She is 21? i would have guessed mid thirties. That's what "hard life" does to you. Not a hard work life, but treating your body and your mind and your spirit hard. No doubt drugs, alcohol, and a life of crime have taken a toll on her. Of course people like this don't worry about little things like self worth......they live for self gain.

She is not on drugs an

She is not on drugs an second u hav no right to judge someone... she is a gud person an

Felon repeat

At the ripe old age of 21, Mr. Evans is not only a gang member but a convicted felon who continues on the criminal path of terrorizing, robbing, etc. Of course, his Momma will defend him. And heavens, no police officer should point a gun his way because he's basically a "good boy."
Wonder if this upstanding citizen has fathered any children that the REST of us are not only supporting w/our tax dollars but also providing Christmas food and gifts!!
I think the police and sheriff departments have their hearts in the right place when they provide all these activities and gifts for inner-city youth but why don't we round up all the absentee fathers and get THEM to host these events. Now that would be a switch!
The moms of these criminals always blame law enforcement and society -- what about the absentee baby daddies? Why no blame and hatred towards them?

Sad Path in Life

One year ago this woman faithfully announced she was ready to start a new life. I don't think she anticipated a year later she would be leaving her child in the care of someone else while she laments in prison over her actions. It's sad to watch young people throw their lives away. Don't care where they come from. Every one has an opportunity to step up and change their circumstances.

"Done wit dis life I've been livin its time for me to mak a change an get married an raise my son to b a wonderful handsome gentleman an respect females so long old life walkn nto my new life soon." - Courtney Jacobs (facebook)
