WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hundreds of people lined the streets of Pleasure Island for the annual Island of Lights Christmas Parade.

Floats, bands and all kinds of creative ideas made their way down Lake Park Boulevard. Friday’s parade is just part of a weekend full of holiday fun.

Saturday, boats and other watercraft will be decked out in lights for the Christmas Flotilla on the Intracoastal Waterway.

That event goes from Snow’s Cut to the Carolina Beach Boat Basin and back beginning at 6 p.m.

I have to agree. was riding with a child, and was biggest crowd i’ve seen in 12 yrs on this island. :) Definitely well over a thousand people lined the streets the entire parade route. The crowd was awesome, great floats.. I think Fat Pelican “Beer is Love” truck and float gotthe biggest applause, lol. Great time! would love to see more photos..

Sorry, but I was in that parade and there were thousands, not hundreds of people. People were packed on both sides of Lake Park Blvd all the way from the lake to Federal Point shopping center. Ton’s of little kids getting candy. One of the best parades I’ve seen here.

One other thing, the CB Flotilla BEGINS in Snow’s cut at the CB boat ramp and parades all the way to the end of the canal to the yacht basin and back. Just tryin’ to help you guys get the correct info out there…
