NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — People donned in warm clothes braved the chilly temps to make it out to Poplar Grove Plantation’s Annual Christmas Open House.

From animals, to one-of-a-kind gifts, music, and even craft demonstrations, this Christmas celebration was full of holiday joy.

But the fun would not be complete without Santa Clause.

Ellie Lorenz says she told Santa exactly what she wants for Christmas.

Her father Carl says they came to poplar grove to spend some quality father-daughter time together.

“We just came out because we heard it was going on, and we’ve never been out to Poplar Grove before. And we just thought we would come check it out,” Lorenz said.

The Topsail High School chorus performed Christmas carols to entertain visitors.

The Poplar Grove Manor house and grounds were decked out in decorations to delight those in the holiday spirit.
