Wilmington, NC (WWAY)– Pizza and beer are headed to Independence Mall.

“Slice of Life” just announced it is opening up a new location in the food court of Independence Mall. The pizza parlor plans to be open by March.

Local businessman Ray Worrell recently announced expanding his downtown location to across the street. Now he’s decided to double down.

“I’ve been very busy and focused on my downtown project, but when approached by the Mall, it seemed like a great opportunity, with a lesser investment than if I had to go and start from scratch,” Worrell said. “I had to give it a try!”

Worrell says the Mall location will offer a slightly scaled back menu and will serve draft beers.

Independence Mall needed a new pizza place ten years ago. Nice to see Slice of Life making a small move, but again… steps. Keep the quality and don’t grow to fast!

Just be careful sir. I love The Slice but I HATE the food court. Please do not grow too fast. It has been the ruin of many fine businesses. I will always be at your military cutoff location. Nothing but the best!
