WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington woman has been charged after a car crash last night seriously injured a bicyclist.

Wilmington Police spokeswoman Linda Rawley says it happened around 6:15 p.m. in the 6600 block of Market Street. She says Janet Farrior, 62, drover her car off the right side of the road and hit a bike. The rider, Martin Hansley, 28, was taken to the hospital with what police say were life-threatening injuries.

Farrior is charged with hit and run and failure to maintain lane control.

Hansley was listed in critical condition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center Thursday morning.
