DELAND, FL (WFTV) — Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a deadly crash that shut down traffic on Interstate 4 in DeLand,FL, for hours on Tuesday.

Troopers said Mary Bullington, 61, of Southport, was driving erratically along I-4 in DeLand when she ran off the road and slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder.

FHP said the Bullington died at the scene.

Two dogs were also in the car. One was injured and the other is OK.

    I, too, thank you for your prayers and nice words. Cathy (Mary Catherine) was my wife for over 24 years, and will be sorely missed by all of us. For all concerned, or just wondering what happened, she suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after leaving our youngest son’s home where she had been visiting. We are all also so thankful that no one else was hurt.
