WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The 2014 MLK Parade is changing routes in January and will use Third and Fourth Streets instead of Front Street, according to organizer Hollis Briggs.
Last MLK Day, the parade moved from its longtime home on Castle Street to Front Street to get more people to come downtown. However, it blocked traffic for some of the businesses on Front Street and a few were against doing it again in January.
Briggs says the new route will look more like the Azalea Festival Parade route, starting at Red Cross and Third, moving south on Third to Princess, then from Princess up Fourth Street.
