RALEIGH, NC (AP) — A Wake Forest man has been charged with dragging two Wake County Alcohol Beverage Control officers with his SUV.

WRAL-TV reports that say 36-year-old Mario Dion Hartsfield was arrested Sunday and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official. Authorities say he dragged the agents, who were investigating controlled substance and parking violations.

Hartsfield was jailed Monday on a $263,000 secure bond on the assault charges as well as other offenses including resisting a public officer, fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana.

He was expected in court Monday, and jail records listed no attorney. Police have not said if the ABC officers were hurt.
