WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — A Wilmington man who was ticketed for parking in Mayor Bill Saffo’s parking space at City Hall will not have to pay a $20 fine after all.

Matt Werner’s appeal of a ticket he received on Dec. 3 has been approved, said Betty Gurganus, the city’s parking manager, on Tuesday.

In his appeal, Werner argued the mayor’s parking space had no sign stating that it was restricted.

The mayor should have to find/pay for parking like the rest of Wilmingtons citizens.

Maybe if Boofont Saffo had been at work trying to screw something up for Wilmington…the parking spot wouldn’t have been empty. But because he wasn’t there…maybe the Supreme Court over ruled the ticket, due to being in a good mood all around.
Reminds me of when I was a kid, and the front page news story was about someone that had parked in the Milkman’s parking spot at the Milk Dairy. No one got milk that day. The Trail went on for weeks and weeks.
As for Saffo’s parking spot from here on…the sign will read…”Caught Parking Here Is An Automatic Vote For Saffo From The Violator”. (That wasn’t needed though in 2013.)
