WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Baby, it's cold outside!
Many of you had to break out those winter coats and gloves for the chilly temps today. At 3 p.m., the National Weather Service reported the temperature in Wilmington was 30 degrees, though it felt like 22.
In downtown Wilmington people bundled up in layers to brave the cold air to get from place to place. Some say they wish they stayed at home all cozied up.
"Why did I get up?" CFCC student Jake Miller said. "This was a bad decision. I should go back to sleep. It's really cold."
"I've been trying to avoid going outside, but my classes are in different buildings, so I've been racing to each class," Nicole Peeler said.
Overall most people we spoke to said it's too cold for the south, and they are looking forward to warmer days.
