RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Civil rights leaders are going to announce their plans for another round of protests over Republican policies in North Carolina.

The state chapter of the NAACP is holding a news conference Wednesday morning to talk about a Moral March on Raleigh on Feb. 8 as well as other protests.

More than 900 people were arrested last year during “Moral Monday” protests at the state legislature. The groups were protesting Republican decisions after the party took over the governor’s office and the Legislature, including the rejection of Medicaid expansion, tax cuts and changes in voting laws.

The NAACP is encouraging similar protests in neighboring South Carolina and Georgia.
