No bond for Leland murder suspect

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- A murder suspect will be held without bond, a judge ruled during a first court appearance this morning.

James Ketchum, 44, is charged in the shooting death early Monday of Jason Anderson, 33, in Leland.

US Marshals helped arrest Ketchum and Carlon Williams after a brief car chase down S. College Road in Wilmington yesterday morning. Ketchum and Williams are also charged with a robbery Saturday.

Relatives of Anderson say he had let the two men stay at his Leland home, but that when Anderson asked them for rent money they turned to crime to get it. They say after he kicked them out and contacted the Sheriff's Office, they labeled him a snitch.

Guess he won't have to worry about getting rent money anymore. Now he gets 3 hots & a cot.
To the victim's family; Sorry for your loss. Know that what he did was not in vain. He did an honorably thing for dishonorableevil men. My heart and prayers go out to you, his family and friends. Life is precious, sad when evil snatches it away.
