SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — The fast thinking of two police officers might have saved a child’s life.

Over the weekend, a 4-year-old fell off a deck of a home in Surf City, according to Mayor Zander Guy.

Sgt. Phillip Voorhees and patrolman Evelyn Campos did CPR and were able to revive the child.

Mayor Guy said the 4-year-old boy is in intensive care at a hospital in Chapel Hill with swelling on his brain.
