WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — As the saying goes, numbers never lie, but that might not be true in the Republican primary for the 7th District Congressional seat.

“You have to look at the questions that were asked in the poll,” said Woody White. “The devil is always in the details.”

Thursday morning the David Rouzer campaign released a poll showing that the Johnston County Republican had a 36 point lead, and that he had better name recognition in Raleigh and Wilmington.

“My goal in this campaign is to let people know who I’m about, and what I’m about, and my vision for the future and that’s the vision I’m going to stay focused on,” said David Rouzer.

Woody White’s campaign fired back by releasing their own poll numbers which show that the race was statistically dead even, and that White held advantages in two of the largest counties in the district.

“He still hasn’t connected with the citizens of this 7th district,” said White. “We’ve been campaigning for three weeks and our poll which was a neutral poll shows that this district wants fresh new energetic leadership.”

Regardless of the numbers each candidate says they will win the election based upon their morals and sound political policy.

“I have a strong investment in Southeastern North Carolina and I have a lot of great experience to help turn this country around and take care of the local needs particularly our beach nourishment, inlet dredging, and these coastal insurance rates that are going out of site,” said Rouzer.

“I have raised my family here, built my business in this district, and that’s what it’s going to take to change America,” said White. “I’m an average American from the real world and not just another lobbyist.”

Pantano, is just another Berger. Just waiting for the implosion

  • Philip says:

What kind of bubble do you live in? Enemy combatants are citizens? I would not want you on my side in a war.

  • Laurence Puco says:

You know it is interesting, when one comments on someone like Pantano, when that same one was not there when all that went down. You cannot talk about if you weren’t there. It is easy for us to comment about anything pertaining to the war when you weren’t there.

    From a Vet….USMC

I’m no great fan of Pantano, but he was cleared by an NCIS investigator.

  • GuestMan. says:

He still did it. That is not even questionable.

  • Vog46 says:

Mr “Vet” you need to retake a civics class.

“You cannot talk about if you weren’t there.” Um I believe the purpose of our “serving” was to protect the right of Americans to do JUST that – talk even though we weren’t there.
Pantano was in fact cleared, however, even the thought of impropriety of THIS magnitude is troublesome for any individual, never mind a politician. War is hell and innocents get killed but as Americans we hold ourselves to much higher standards than our adversaries do. IF Pantano slipped, and acted like our adversaries, OR, didn’t prevent others from slipping, he is not trustworthy as a politician. I can forgive “the act” – I just won’t vote for him.

It makes my bleeding liberal heart so happy to know whack-jobs like you still have a voice in the GOTP. Keep hammerin’ brotha. Youre making it easy for my side.

  • GuestMan. says:

Pantano is a coward that emptied two magazines in unarmed citizens.

Of the 2 guy’s with their name in the hat I don’t trust either, Rouzer is to much like a “RINO”, and White has done proven he can’t be trusted by his actions, he acts just like the POTUS, he believes he knows what is better for us than we do, and doesn’t give a second thought to g against the voters, we have to choose a candidate that will carry out our wish’s, and neither one of these candidates have our best interest in mind, Pantano would be a much better choice, he is a man of honor, he has looked the enemy in the eye and brought his fellow Americans home., these other guys would treat them like sacrificial lambs.

  • G.Henderson says:

Connecting with the voters is important, but each candidate should be allowed to make that attempt. If you can get down to what is important to the people, then you should be fine.

  • Guest2929 says:

I can’t wait until White bankrupts himself with all of his political campaigns.
