WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Actors, directors, producers and stage hands put on their everyday costumes to honor each other in Wilmington Thursday night. Thalian Hall hosted the 3rd annual Starnews Media Wilmington Theater Awards.

Organizers said because the Port City has such a vibrant and talented theater community, it's important to give recognition.

Meanwhile, the nominees said they were humbled by the honor.

"The director of the show I did last actually was the one who told me. He emailed me and I was very, very surprised. The people that I'm nominated with are just stellar performers. So, it's amazing," Graham said.

Graham was up for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role in 'How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.' She didn't win. Olivia James won it for her role in 'Rent.'

Best play went to 'Venus in Fur' and 'Oklahoma' won best musical.
