WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — George Elliott checks out Tree Fest 2014 at Independence Mall.

The 18th annual event allows participants to choose from an array of grass and tree saplings.

Tree Fest committee members say now is the time to plant.

In order to keep the event running, they ask for a small donation of $3.00 but it is not required.
