WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County Commissioner Tom Wolfe says he will not seek election to a full four-year term this fall.

Wolfe was appointed last year to fill the unexpired term of Rick Catlin after Catlin won a seat in the NC House of Representatives.

Wolfe cited personal reasons for his decision not to run.

“To commit to another full four years to serve the county and its citizens is not a commitment I felt I could make at this time,” Wolfe said in a statement. “I have really enjoyed my tenure to date and will continue to put every ounce of effort I can into my full time job as County Commissioner.”

Filing for elections opens Feb. 10 and runs through Feb. 28.
