WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Those with legal questions had a unique opportunity this weekend.

The North Carolina Bar Association held "Ask a Lawyer Day" in Independence Mall.

Attorneys were on hand to for free 30-minute one-on-one consultations.

This year's Ask a Lawyer Day was organized by local attorney, Nicole Shoemaker Russ.

She said folks were lined up out the door when the event opened at 11:00AM Saturday. More than 70 people were helped this year, passing 2013's total.

Russ said the NC Bar Association will be holding a similar event over the phone March 7th. This will allow anyone to call in toll-free for legal advice.
