Deputies: Man found shot inside car dies from gunshot wound to chest

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Deputies are investigating after they say a man who was found with a shot to the chest inside a car yesterday died from his gunshot wound.

The Columbus County Sheriff's Office says deputies and Tabor City Rescue responded to the intersection of Kenny Jordan Rd. and Swamp Fox Highway East around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. That's where they say they found a man shot inside a vehicle.

Deputies say the man, Richard Jason McPherson, 29, of Claredon, had an apparent gunshot wound to the chest when they found him. They say he was transported to a hospital in Loris, SC, where McPherson died upon arrival.

Columbus County deputies say their preliminary investigation shows that the shooting happened in the 500 block of Pine Circle Drive in the Green Acres community, about a mile from where the victim was found.

Deputies say they expect an autopsy to be conducted today, and anyone with information is asked to call the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office at 910-642-6551.

Why was he in that area

Why was he in that area anyway?

This is really beginning to get ridiculous. How many of our young people have to die this year for our law enforcement to do something about it. Girls are going missing left and right our guys are getting shot. The counties of Columbus and horry are beginning to be just as bad as some major crime cities. To all the new parents teach your kids good morals and respect and take them to church and keep them close when you go anywhere so these things don't happen to them. My heart goes out to the families of all our victims. And I'm praying that guilt overwhelms those that have done these horrid things so they turn themselves in.

Chances are the shooters are

Chances are the shooters are happy they have made their gang initiation quota, and will feel no more remorse than the monsters who executed Rashid Jones and Darnell Frink.
