Brunswick County school board adopts new lice policy

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- The Brunswick County school board combed through the issue Tuesday night, and created a tougher policy on head lice.

Students must be treated and screened before being allowed back into class. Nurses and teachers will be able to check for lice and nits ... they can even use a black light to see if nits are still there.

The current policy allows students to return to school with nits. The school will give parents information on how to eliminate lice.

The board will review the new policy this summer.

If the teacher or screener

If the teacher or screener catches lice from the carrier, will that be covered by worker's comp???

I am 66 y/o. If I had come home from school with lice my mother would have killed me.
