WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) — A man was arrested Monday night after fleeing two accident scenes and trying to drive his van down some railroad tracks, Lt. David Yanacek of the Wilmington Police Department said.

Liam Augusta James, 60, was involved in "a very minor accident" in the parking lot of the BP at Barclay Hills Drive and Market Street, Yanacek said.

When James tried to flee the scene, the other motorist involved in the accident chased him down Forest Hills Drive. James reached Colonial Drive before losing control and hitting a utility pole, causing a transformer to blow up, Yanacek said.
