WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Ryan Phillippe is in final negotiations to star in ABC's "Secrets & Lies," according to multiple media reports. The show is set to begin shooting its pilot in Wilmington later this month.
Phillippe, 39, has starred in movies like "Crash," "Cruel Intentions" and "The Lincoln Lawyer." He was also in the cast of "I Know What You Did Last Summer," which filmed in southeastern North Carolina in the late 1990s.
"Secrets & Lies" is based on an upcoming Australian series. Phillippe is set to play the main character, a family man who finds himself as the prime suspect of a murder mystery.
Charles McDougall, whose credits include "House of Cards," "The Office" and "Sex and the City," has signed on to direct the pilot of "Secret & Lies," reports Sheila Brothers at WilmywoodNC.com.
