WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Today was career day today at College Park Elementary School in Wilmington.

Students learned what it’s like to be an author, firefighter and even a florist.

Teachers say this is a great way to expose students to many different professions.

One student says after today he now knows what he wants to be when he grows up.

“My favorite one has to have been the (TV) reporter, and I think I might want to be one,” fourth grader Colton Sholar said.

Colton says his favorite part of the day was getting to see what people actually do when they’re working. He says it was neat meeting new people and talking to them about their jobs.
