WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Valentine’s day is two days away and quite a few people, including local florists, are currently in candlelight. But this time, it isn’t romantic.

As florists head into their biggest day of the year, winter conditions are causing some of them to come to a halt.

Tasteful Creations is pushing through the ice.

Co-owner Dallas Vetter says, “We’re working, no power, but we’re working … I give my customer my word, I’m going get it there. I’m going get it there.”

They are filling out forms and taking orders over the phone.

Vetter says Valentine’s Day alone makes up about 25% of their annual income.
