Records: Man accused of crash that killed four had prior traffic charges

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WCTI) -- The man accused of causing a quadruple-fatal crash in Onslow County over the weekend was supposed to be in court Monday on prior charges, including reckless driving and DWI.

But Saquan Nelson will not make that court date because he and three other people died in a crash he caused by running a red light, said investigators.

According to the Highway Patrol, the 24-year-old Nelson was driving a Hyundai car when he sped through a red light at Highways 258 and 53, just west of Jacksonville, and collided with a Toyota SUV Saturday afternoon.

STOP on yellow already!

I cannot believe how many time I go through a yellow light I think might be iffy and 2-3 cars behind me blow through the intersection. I'm reminded of the old joke where the cab driver runs red lights and says "My brother does it all the time" upon hitting a green light the driver stops.. asked why he says "My brother might be around!"

sell the vehicle

I blame this entirely on the judicial system. I say TAKE THE VEHICLE BEING DRIVEN BY A DUI AND SELL IT AT AUCTION. You have got to make this sort of arrest HURT THE DRIVER!!! The courts certainly don't do it.
