PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Pender County says a 49-year-old died last week of complications from the flu. It’s the first flu death in the county this flu season.

To protect the family’s privacy, the county did not release the name, hometown or gender of the person, who died Friday.

The county says the person had not received the flu vaccine this season.

Earlier this week the NC Department of Health and Human Services reported the number of flu deaths this season in the state had risen to 64 through Feb. 8, and flu season is not yet over. Last year 59 people died during the entire season.

Experts recommend everyone six months or older get a flu vaccine.

I picked un am Rx from the CVS on the corner of S College and Oleander Dr. in Wilmington this morning. While I was there I asked the pharmacy what their opinion was on getting the flu shot. She replied “No.. Won’t do anything now, we’re not getting any back in either”…
So according to this story, I SHOULD get the vaccine this late in the game, or shouldn’t… I are is be confused… Walgreens acted just about as concerned with getting it.. SO the app says these places have it, but don’t want to give it..
So do I need it or not if I have not received it and where can I go to get it since the app says where to go, but the pharmacies could care less about it?
Hmmmm.. CDC opinion or fastfood I mean fastpharm opinion..

Has anyone released the kind of health the person was in other than the flu? That and age usually play a big part in how a person is able to fight the flu.
