WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Southeastern North Carolina is now home to two top officials in the state's Republican Party.
Former state Rep. Carolyn Justice of Hampstead is the new vice chair of the party. The NC Republican Party Executive Committee voted her to the position Saturday.
The NCGOP is led by chairman Claude Pope, a Bald Head Island businessman.
Justice represented House District 16 from 2003 to 2012.
"For decades, Carolyn Justice has been a committed and principled conservative leader in our party, and it's a privilege to have her as the new vice chairwoman of the NCGOP," Pope said in a statement.
