WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Southeastern North Carolina is now home to two top officials in the state’s Republican Party.

Former state Rep. Carolyn Justice of Hampstead is the new vice chair of the party. The NC Republican Party Executive Committee voted her to the position Saturday.

The NCGOP is led by chairman Claude Pope, a Bald Head Island businessman.

Justice represented House District 16 from 2003 to 2012.

“For decades, Carolyn Justice has been a committed and principled conservative leader in our party, and it’s a privilege to have her as the new vice chairwoman of the NCGOP,” Pope said in a statement.

I am certainly very happy to read about this!
We JUST MAY get somewhere now. Get the old Dead Wood OUTTA there and put a true conservative, SMART woman in. IT IS ABOUT TIME!!!

OMG, the 2012 election was a disaster- This local group couldn’t even pull off getting YARD SIGNS in to their office up at the mall for the National Race for President. They blamed it on everyone else…what a mess they made of campaigning for Romney.

    I’ll be back!

Whomever you are you are seriously uninformed. Carolyn (who I agree is a great hard working conservative) was just elected to STATE Vice Chair, replacing another great conservative woman, Joyce Kraweic who was appointed to State Senate.

The Wilmington GOP Victory office was run by the Republican National Committee in conjunction with the state and local GOPs. The 2012 election was NOT a disaster as Romney WON in NC and many GOP candidates won in local and state races as well. Not being supplied with Romney yard signs was an RNC issue and had absolutely nothing to do with whomever was in charge at the Victory Office.

I was there every weekend and the get out the vote and phone bank effort was excellent with the results to back it up. There were yard signs and campaign info all the candidates.

You are obviously ignorant of the process and are spouting empty rhetoric.

I volunteered at the NHGOP HQ in 2012. We had our share of issues and were asked to a meeting after the election to discuss solutions. As a result, we addressed many of them and feel confident that there will be good improvements.

I highly recommend that conservatives volunteer a few hours a week at the office. The excitement and resolve was palpable. And even with our issues, we still turned New Hanover County RED which really ticked off the libs. We didn’t get Mr. Romney but we got a Republican legislature and Governor in power. They are undoing a Century of bad policies by the Democrats. Teachers are getting paid more contrary to the lies of the left. The Dems are the ones who took money away from education before 2012.

In addition, the new abortion laws require abortion clinic standards to meet surgical standards. This protects women and their health and bodies. The Republcians did not want another Gosnell situation. The liberals are against this. And who has the “War on Women”. The Democrats. Btw, I am a woman and a minority.

Am so tired of the liberals’ outright lies and misinformation to keep their corrupt and immoral politicians in office. It only serves to hurt NC.

BTW, this is not addressed to you but to others who may think the Democrats’ narrative is the truth.

Good for her. She is fabulous and will do a great job in this role.

Too bad this so called conservative is back in politics. Carolyn Justice co-sponsored a bill Danny McComas came up with…”The North Carolina Video Services Tax”. Ms. Justice refused to speak to me about it. Anyone with satellite service knows about this huge tax increase…$6.25 per month for me. It lessens the competition with cable TV providers…who do not have to charge this tax. I’ve always wondered about the money trail on this one.

While the party is run by establishment Republicans, they will get nowhere.

Such as winning the race for governor, lt. governor, state house majority and state senate majority? That kind of nowhere? Nowhere locally like having an 100% GOP school board and majority of the county commission in New Hanover and 100% in Brunswick too? Nowhere like having the state senate 9th, state house 19th, state house 16th, state house 17th, state house 20th? That kind of nowhere?

I think what 2020’s trying to say is that “mainstream” Repubicans aren’t right wing enough for her. Apparently her politics are somewhere just to the right of Atilla the Hun.

Not even close. As long as the establishment republicans are re-elected then nothing in this country is going to change for the better. The establishment republicans have only one interest and that is furthering the agenda of the party instead of looking out for the interests of the people.
