WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On Oscar Sunday, many of the actresses look like princesses as they walk the red carpet. But, as it turns out, you do not have to be a star to go to the awards. All you need is a little magic from your fairy godmother.

It’s not easy to smile for the camera for a long time, but Jessica Edwards has to practice. The real estate agent is about to turn into a Hollywood star.

“It’s a whirlwind,” said Edwards, a realtor for Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage in Wilmington.

A whirlwind Edwards pretty much started on her own. Years ago, she captured Corporate’s attention with her YouTube Channel which she uses to promote her listings.

Now she is a corporate ambassador.

“I am their consumer spokesperson,” said the 28-year-old.

As she continues to sell homes in the Cape Fear, she travels the country talking about her marketing strategies.

“Coldwell Banker is debuting a commercial that will run during the Oscars. They have two tickets to go to the Oscars, and decided to use it as a marketing opportunity to show sort of the behind-the-scenes look of what it would be like for a celebrity,” said Edwards.

The front office of Coldwell Banker is sending Edwards to the 86th Academy Awards to make promotional videos and give people at home tips on what they can do to get ready for a glamorous event like the Oscars.

But, before she left for California, she got the royal treatment from two local companies.

“I can’t wait to see it all come together,” said Lauren Frick of Reeds Jewelers.

This Cinderella story comes complete with not one, but two fairy godmothers, Reeds Jewelers and Monkee’s.

“We pulled many looks and had designers send in dresses and fabulous pieces just for her to take to the Oscars,” said Lindsay Toler of Monkee’s.

Edwards will be pieces from Monkee’s during the videos segments and parties. The dress she will wear to the Oscars will be hand picked out by a stylist in Los Angeles.

“I can’t wait to see what Oscar’s gown she chooses. We sent her with a bunch of shoe options,” said Toler.

You might be wondering; will she have a Prince Charming to find her shoe if she loses it? Well, kind of.

“My sister-in-law,” Edwards laughed. “The joke is I ditched my husband for my sister-in-law to come with me.”

Lucky for this Cinderella, she does not have any wicked stepsisters, only loving family and friends that could not be any more proud.

“She is just somebody that everyone is crazy about and love her. But on top of that it’s really nice to see other people recognize her achievements,” said Carolyn Thomason, one of Edwards’ coworkers.

Edwards not only gets to walk the red carpet and go to the show, but she also invited to the Governor’s Ball; a very exclusive party that only a few of the top stars go after the award show ends.
