WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department says a house fire off Masonboro Sound Road in Wilmington is under control.

According to WFD, neighbors called in the fire a little after 2 p.m.

When crews arrived, they tried to battle the blaze from inside the home, but found the home to be structurally unstable.

Firefighters had the flames under control just after 5 p.m.

No one was home at the time, and investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
