WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Academy Awards ceremony is all about celebrating the work of Hollywood, but the pressure is on to look good too. Stylist Jessica De Vault Hale has her eyes peeled as the stars arrived on the red carpet last night and she couldn't take them off of three dresses she's calling winners.

Cate Blanchett won Best Actress at the 2014 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre and is being hailed as a favorite in the dress department for her Armani gown.

"12 Years a Slave" actress and Best Supporting Actress winner Lupita Nyong'o wore a powder blue Prada gown which De Vault said is a color not everyone can pull off. Pastels were hot on the carpet and De Vault said everyone should be aware of their own skin town and see how it works with pastels, because they can either wash you out or make you glow.

De Vault also loved 38-year-old actress Charlize Theron's Christian Dior haute couture dress.

In addition to highlighting her favorite looks, De Vault pointed out repeated trends during the arrivals. Many actresses turned to peplums to show off their figures. See what else De Vault loved, including men's fashions when you watch her whole interview segment from Good Morning Carolina.
