Search continues for missing schizophrenic man

SOUTHPORT, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) -- The Southport Police Department is continuing the search for Adam Karami Muhammad, 22, Police Chief Jerry Dove said Tuesday.

"Hope is eternal down here, and we haven't given up hope that we can find him," Dove said.

Muhammad, a diagnosed schizophrenic, was last seen about 10 p.m. on Valentine's Day when he left his job at the Yacht Basin Eatery.

Tuesday, the Brunswick Search and Rescue volunteer organization checked a small area to see if there were any signs of Muhammad. At this point, Dove said, police are reviewing places where Muhammad was known to frequent and was last seen.

Southport Police don't have time for this.

That's a pretty cold remark. Sounds like you are implying that this man's case isn't important enough for them to investigate. I sure hope that he isn't a member of your family or that you never know what it's like to lose a loved one and have no answers.

It was simply a sarcastic remark referring to the shooting of a BSL teen by Bryon Vassey.

um I think the original poster is referencing the incident in which a teenager was shot and killed by a Southport police officer after stating that "we don't have time for this"

No the last time Southport Police were involved in a case with a person that had a mental illness, the cop stated he didn't have time for this and shot the boy.
