Another teen charged for January murder in Wilmington

READ MORE:

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Another teenager has been charged with a January murder in Wilmington.

Police say they arrested Torrence Burns, 17, yesterday for the shooting death of Raequan Rouse. He is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Investigators say the arrest came as part of an investigation into complaints about drug sales and gang activity at a home at 4804 Kubeck Ct. in the Winterwood Complex.

Burns is the second teen charged in Rouse's murder, along with Dominique Gibbs, 16, who was charged last month.

Police say earlier this week they charged Ziy'Kerra Lemon for accessory after the fact of murder in connection to Rouse's death.

Investigators say they are also still looking for Adron Whitted for his involvement in the murder.

A search warrant at the home on Kubeck Ct. also turned up 117 bags of heroin, some ammunition and more than $1,000 in cash. Police also arrested Zakiyya Murphy, who lives there, on drug charges.

Police say Rouse, 18, was shot once at N. 10th St. and Campbell St. in late January. They say previous reports that Rouse had been shot multiple times were incorrect, though several shots were fired during the crime.

OK all of you Al and Jesse wanna be's. Here is another chance to throw that race card and make some points for yourselves. This poor seventeen year-old lad. He's now accused of taking a live with....A GUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't the cops know that he isn't legally supposed to possess a hand gun much less shoot someone???
Seriously folks, it is a different world out there in the gang and drug culture that has taken Wilmington and other communities. Let us see if the community will see that suspect number 3, Adron Whitted is turned over to the cops so that the courts can begin to give justice a chance to be served.
