One taken to hospital after shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police and the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office are on the scene investigating an afternoon shooting.

Witnesses said they saw two men arguing on Chestnut Street. They said not too long after a third man drove up in a silver compact car, pulled what they think was a revolver, and shot one of the men before driving off.

Police said after the victim was shot, he stumbled down N. 12th Street where he eventually collapsed.

Investigators will not release any information about the male victim until they make contact with his family.

Witnesses said they heard four gun shots, which immediately drew a crowd.

"He was surrounded by a lot of people," said Eric White. "I was just amazed this was happening in front of my house."

Investigators will not say whether his injuries are life threatening.

Police say it is too early to tell if the shooting was gang related and are still searching for a suspect.

Victims name is matt bogus. He's a friend of min. Keep him in your prayers

have become an everyday thing now in this area. Police know who the drug dealers and gang members are; I say just round them up and put them somewhere where they can just fight it out, stab it out and shoot it out without any interference.

See what a few warm days will do?
Wait...

First real warm day of the year and all hell breaks loose!!!!
