Police believe gangs tied to shooting, stabbing

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police say a man showed up at a Wilmington fire station this afternoon with stab wounds.

Sgt. Curt Stansbury says a woman drove the man to the back of the fire station at 8th and Market streets at 1:19 p.m. Stansbury says the victim, a black male in his late 20s or early 30s, has been taken to the hospital. He says the man was stabbed once or twice in the torso and face.

Police say the victim was bleeding heavily. They say firefighters performed first aid until EMS arrived to take him to the hospital.

Stansbury says there is another crime scene related to the case on Chestnut Street.

Yesterday a man was shot at 12th and Chestnut. Police have identified the victim of that shooting as Joshua Gore, 18. Investigators say today's stabbing victim is a member of a rival gang.

open season on gang members

Gather these damn gang idiots up, put them in a parking lot and let them shoot each other to death. Be done with it or have a 24 hours hunting season for gang members. They are so stupid you are never going to get them to stop shooting, stabbing and killing people. Put them AND US out of our misery dealing with them.

What a marvelous idea.
