Wallace man charged with raping Pender Co. teen

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Pender County investigators have charged a Wallace man with statutory rape.

The Pender County Sheriff's Office charged Dustin Dewayne Raynor, 21, Monday. A detective says the crime happened March 3 with a 15-year-old victim girl.

Det. John Leatherwood says Raynor picked up the victim from her home in Pender County and took her to his home, where the crime allegedly happened. Leatherwood says state law allows for prosecution in Pender County, because the victim was transported from the county with the intent of committing the crime.

Raynor is out of jail under $50,000.
